چکیده
Plastic materials are used increasingly in different domains and the comprehension of phenomena occurring when they exposed to a thermal stress has become huge challenge over years. Indeed, an accurately described decomposition can help both, determining conditions for which ignition occur evaluating their participation fire growth propagation. Numerous parameters influence decomposition, especially irradiance level local oxygen concentration environment where occurs. The present paper deals with assessment behaviour Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene material, considering both condensed gaseous phases. results Controlled Atmosphere Cone Calorimeter Fourier Transform InfraRed spectrometer presented test (variation levels imposed at material surface). This study allows determination combustion regimes depending on concentration. It also highlights effects richness heat flux allow assessing material's behaviour: time, mass loss rates, release rate emissions combustible hazardous compounds.

Mimicking Hardwoods Using Honeycombs Manufactured from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS): A Comparison of Mechanical Properties
Wood has been used as a material to build mechanical structures for thousands of years. As a natural composite of cellulose fibers embedded in a matrix of lignin, this organic, cellular solid resists both tension and compression. Its properties depend on the direction of loading of its cells − whether radially, tangentially, or axially − and such anisotropy is modeled well as a regular honeycom...

The rapid printing of 3D parts with desired electrical properties enables numerous applications. Fused deposition modeling (FDM) using conductive thermoplastic composites has been a valuable approach for such fabrication. The parts produced by FDM possess various controllable structural features, but the effects of the structural features on the electrical properties remain to be determined. Th...

A novel IMRT phantom was designed and fabricated using Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic. Physical properties of ABS plastic related to radiation interaction and dosimetry were compared with commonly available phantom materials for dose measurements in radiotherapy. The ABS IMRT phantom has provisions to hold various types of detectors such as ion chambers, radiographic/radiochromic...
متن کاملDegradation of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene and polycarbonate by UV irradiation
The eects of ultra-violet irradiation on the microstructure of an oxygen free polymer viz., acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene and a polymer containing oxygen viz., polycarbonate have been investigated using positron annihilation lifetime measurement. Lifetime results in both polymers in the early stages of irradiation indicate that chain-scission leading to free radical formation is the predomin...

Residual levels of 14 volatile substances, including 1,3-butadiene, acrylonitrile, benzene, ethylbenzene, and styrene, in 30 kitchen utensils made from acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin (ABS) and acrylonitrile-styrene resin (AS) such as slicers, picks, cups, and lunch boxes in Japan were simultaneously determined using headspace gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy (HS-GC/MS). The maximum r...
